A Mundano Objectos apresenta a Residência Artística “CONVERSATION” de YOAD DAVID LUXEMBOURG e que irá decorrer de 7 a 11 de Outubro na sua Galeria e estará aberta ao público em geral, de segunda a sexta-feira entre as 14:00h e as 19:00h.
A EXPOSIÇÃO inaugura no dia 12 de Outubro a partir das 17:00h.
Podem visitar e interagir com os trabalhos e os resultados das conversas de design realizadas na Galeria até o dia 8 de Novembro.

Durante este período ele irá produzir uma série de trabalhos sob o tema "Conversa" e desenvolver uma experiência de design criativo e lúdico com materiais disponíveis, ou escolhidos para cada trabalho. Esta atitude lúdica e viva irá reflectir-se nos resultados ou obras criadas.
A ideia para a "Conversa" é retirada da metáfora clássica de Donald Schön da actividade do design como uma "conversação reflexiva com os materiais da situação" (The Reflective Practitioner, 1983, p.172).
Esta metáfora sugere que o design pode ser entendido como um acto de conversação reflexiva com a situação que temos em mãos. Os designers no processo de trabalho criativo para um objectivo final, arranjam materiais (madeira, metal, pedra, etc.) e pensamentos (através da escrita e desenhando), criando entre as situações (experiências, protótipos e conceitos). Quando estas situações são avaliadas, elas " falam de volta" para o designer e desenvolve-se uma conversa a cada nova etapa ou ajuste feito pelo designer para a situação final desejada, objectivo, ou produto.
Esta residência tem a intenção de levar essa metáfora de projectar um passo mais além, transformar o acto de conversa numa performance. David Luxembourg optou por um conjunto de materiais para ter esta conversa, ele definiu as situações finais ou objectivos que pretende atingir, ou criar, e ele está com disposição para o diálogo, com as coisas, com as mãos, com as pessoas.
David Luxembourg vai trabalhar desde materiais naturais e rurais, como papel e cortiça, a materiais tecnológicos utilizados para cuidados de saúde e medicina. Com estes materiais ele vai tentar combinar e organizar pequenas peças de mobiliário, ou objectos de jogo, actividades, diversão, e novas conversas entre os produtos criados e as pessoas com quem eles interagem.

From the 7th to the 11th of October, designer & artist YOAD DAVID LUXEMBOURG will reside within Mundano Objectos Gallery in Porto. During this time he will work on a series of works under the theme "Conversation" and develop a creative, playful and vivid design experience with materials available, or chosen for each work.
The idea for “Conversation” is taken from Donald Schön's classic metaphor of designing as a “reflective conversation with the materials of the situation” (The Reflective Practitioner, 1983, p.172). This metaphor suggests that designing can be understood as act of reflective conversation with the situation at hand. As designers work in their process of creation towards a final goal they arrange materials (wood, metal, stone, etc.) and thoughts (through writing and sketching), they create in-between situations (experiments, prototypes and concepts). When these situations are evaluated they “talk back” to the designer and a conversation develops with each new step or adjustment made by the designer towards the desired final situation, goal, or product.
This residence intends to take this metaphor of designing as an act of conversation a step further into designing as a performance. David Luxembourg has chosen a set of materials to have his conversation with, He has marked the final situations or goals that he intends to achieve, or create, and he is in the mood for dialogue, with stuff, with hands, with people.
David Luxembourg will work with a wide range of materials, from natural and rural materials like paper and cork, to advance and technological materials used for healthcare and medicine. These he will try to combine and arrange into small pieces of furniture, into game objects, into activities, into fun, and into new conversations between the created products and the people whom they interact with.
David Luxembourg's "Conversation" design residency in Mundano Objectos Gallery will be open to the general public from Monday to Friday between 14:00-19:00 hours daily.
On the 12th of October the Conversation Exposition will open at 17:00 hours. The works and results of the design conversations made by David Luxembourg can be visited and interacted with in the gallery till the 8th of November.
