The PLUMEN 001 is the world’s first designer energy saving light bulb, and it's arriving to MUNDANO.

Already winner of one of the world's most prestigious design competitions is a sculpted, low-energy light bulb created by a British designer and praised for bringing "a measure of delight to an everyday product".

The energy saving light bulb is a neglected, yet inspiring invention. It uses 80% less energy than the traditional incandescent light bulb, keeps down electricity bills and is better for the environment. It also lasts around 8 times longer. Despite this, we tend to buy them out of moral obligation. To some the problem is the light they give off, to others it is the way they look. Both can be solved. We believe the answer is in the design.

Make the bulb attractive and people will spend a bit more and enjoy a better quality of light and a design they appreciate every day. Glass tubes can be bent is many different shapes so why are there thousands of manufacturers but only three designs? Plumen aims to address the problem.

The name comes from ‘plume’ – a bird’s show feather, designed to attract attention to a bird’s prowess and beauty. We believe our designs do the same for the energy saving light bulb, as you can see from our public FlickR

Six Scents_Series Three

Making Scents of Memories:
From Innocence to Experience

Six Scents Series Three is an exploration into the nature of childhood memories and the influence of adolescence on identity. Six designers from six different parts of the world have been invited to remember the most definitive experiences of their youth that led to their sense of identity today and to recall some of their most intimate childhood memories involving the sense of smell. Exploring the stories from one through six, innocence begins to fade and rebellion, reality and mischief kick in. In addition, a group of contemporary artists have been invited to interpret the progression from innocence to experience through film. A portion of the proceeds will go to War Child International (warchild.ca) in support of children who have not had the good fortune to experience the same freedom of childhood and adolescence.

Six Scents

Each year, the Six Scents Fragrance initiative brings the experience of creativity with a conscience to the world through a collection of six individual scents. Created by a distinct group of designers and perfumers, these limited edition fragrances are designed to represent a global range of contemporary views on creativity and culture. Through the designers’ concepts and the perfumers’ knowledge of fine fragrance, two artistic disciplines interweave to explore new perfume compositions and multi-sensory experiences.

The Six Scents Fragrance Initiative is an ongoing collaboration between Symrise, Metaproject and Seven New York. Annually, the distinct group of six prominent artists and perfumers selected to develop the limited edition series of fragrance, help raise money for charity. The collection represents a worldwide spectrum of contemporary perspectives on creativity, culture, consciousness and collectivity.

Serie Two

"To know nature is to begin to know art, and to know art is to understand that it cannot exist independent of nature. Six Scents Series Two explores the relationship between artist and nature through a collection of six fragrances, six stories, six films, six art pieces and six photographic works. Each experience intends to instigate the desire to preserve our environment so that others can continue to be inspired by the beauty, power and intrigue of nature."

"A Collective Creation Focused on spreading a message of environmental sustainability in a non-redundant way, we invited each designer to imagine a place, action and person that would be the basis of their fragrance. From their response a story evolved. The perfumers, directors, photographers, artists, designers and writers that have collaborated on Series Two were asked to interpret these stories as they understood them. The final result is a multi-media and multi-sensory collective creation. Everything began with a place, action and person because our relationship to nature begins with an experience. Preserving that experience begins by telling its story."

Series Two is individually numbered, containing a DVD with a short film titled ‘Flashback’ by contemporary artist Marco Brambilla, each fragrance is offered in a limited quantity of 2,000 bottles and a percentage of the net proceeds will go toward Pro-Natura in support of their environmental sustainability programs.

Each fragrance is offered in a limited quantity of 3,000 bottles and a percentage of the net proceeds will go toward War Child International.
